The
Bridge Family Center held its 21st annual Breakfast On The
Bridge September 19, 2007 for 140 school and social service
professionals and other community leaders from West Hartford and
the surrounding region. The breakfast is an opportunity for
individuals who work with youth and families to network and
share services. It is a spirited kick-off to a new year of
collaboration.
The
breakfast is also the venue for presenting the annual Build No
Fences Award, given to an individual who provides support for
young people and families and “who tears down turf issues in
town and recognizes that there is enough work here for all of
us.” One individual was honored this year: Chief James J.
Strillacci, chief of the West Hartford Police Department. Chief
Strillacci was recognized for his leadership and collaboration
with The Bridge, the state legislature, town government, the
schools and many other arms of the town to keep our children
safe.
