The Bridge's Crisis Response Team is specially trained to provide psychological and emotional intervention in the aftermath of a  disaster or traumatic incident, such as a bomb threat, accident or shooting.

The Bridge Crisis Response Team

The Bridge Family Center has a team of mental health professionals and paraprofessionals who are trained to provide psychological and emotional intervention in the immediate and short-term aftermath of traumatic incidents or disasters.  Team members have completed training in basic Critical Incident Stress Management as provided by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.  Additionally, some team members have completed advanced training and other specific disaster or trauma-related educational programs.

Following any such traumatic incident, The Bridge team is prepared to mobilize and provide organized crisis intervention -- defusing, debriefing and providing individual and family support to all who are affected by the incident.  On-site supervisors are then freer to continue to manage the many other aspects inherent to the aftermath of traumatic incidents.

Any crisis that disrupts the day-to-day functioning of a school, office, business, etc., is appropriate for a call to the Crisis Response Team.  Such crises could include the death of a student or teacher, a bomb threat, accident or shooting.
