Since 1969, the
generosity of individuals, foundations, corporations, and civic and
religious organizations has enabled The Bridge to respond to the
changing human service needs of the Greater Hartford community. Your
gift will touch the lives of youths in crisis or at risk and help
provide programs and counseling to enable them to make positive life
choices. Seventy-nine cents of every dollar we receive goes directly
to work with young people and their families. We welcome your
support more than ever as our programming evolves to meet the needs
and challenges facing children, youth, and families today.
The Bridge is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all contributions are
tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. The Bridge Family
Center is a member of Leave a Legacy Connecticut. The Bridge
is also a United Way Partner Agency.

10,000 young people and families each year. Become a Friend of

Matching Gifts |
Many companies have matching gifts programs, making your
contribution go even farther. If your employer has such a
program, please ask for a matching gift form from your human
resources department and send it to The Bridge (with
the employee portion filled out and signed) along with your
donation. We will complete the organization section and mail it
to your employer, and will notify you when we have received the

Memorial and Honorary Gifts |
The Bridge Family Center welcomes gifts to honor friends or
family members on special occasions such as birthdays,
anniversaries, graduations, or the birth or adoption of a child. A gift made in tribute can be a unique way to recognize and
celebrate a personal achievement, milestone, or memorable event
in the life of a friend or loved one. The Bridge also
gratefully accepts donations made in the name of a friend,
associate, or loved one who has died.
A memorial or honorary gift is a lasting demonstration of
admiration, friendship, and love. Your gift helps build a
brighter future for a troubled youth or family. When you send a
gift, we will notify the person being honored, or the family of
the loved one being remembered, of your thoughtfulness. To make

Gifts of Stock |
Gifts of stock or securities may be made through your broker.
By transferring stock directly to The Bridge, you will be
entitled to an income tax deduction for the full market value of
the securities, and you will not have to pay capital gains tax
on the stock’s appreciation. Please call us before you transfer
stock so we may assure the security of this gift and establish
its value for tax purposes.

Bequests |
A simple bequest to The Bridge Family Center, Inc. may be
included in your will, enabling you to make a larger gift than
you might have thought possible and providing savings in state
and federal death taxes. You can donate a specific dollar
amount or a percentage of your assets. Please contact us for
sample bequest language that you can share with your attorney.
