Children's Charity Ball
2026 Children's Charity Ball
A Sky Full of Stars
Our 27th Annual Children's Charity Ball, A Sky Full of Stars, will shine far beyond one memorable night. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests, sponsors, and auction donors, we raised $277,000 in support of the Bridge's programs and services.
A very special thank you is extended to our Honorary Chairs, Rick and Kate Deurloo; our presenting sponsor, RTX; our Diamond Sponsors, Connecticut Wealth Management and Liberty Bank; our Emcee, Scot Haney; and the incredible group of women who work tirelessly to ensure the success of this extraordinary evening.
The 2027 Ball will be held on January 30 at the Hartford Golf Club.

Breakfast on the Bridge
Breakfast on the Bridge, a 37-year tradition, is an opportunity for individuals who work with children and families in West Hartford to kick off a new year of collaboration. It signifies the start of the school year, gives old friends a chance to catch up, and provides an opportunity to meet new people and share ideas. Each year, the annual Build No Fences Award is presented to an individual who sees no boundaries and works collaboratively with child advocates to support young people and families.
The 2025 Breakfast on the Bridge was held on Wednesday, September 17 at the West Hartford Town Hall.
Katie Bond, a Clinical School Counselor at Hall High School received the Build No Fences Award. Before it was presented, Katie heard complimentary comments from her colleagues. Joy Wright, Principal of King Philip Middle School commented "Whether it is leading student leadership groups, helping students learn how to manage their anxiety, leading restorative circles, or partnering with our community partners to provide a caregiver educator program, Katie is a natural connector who initiates programs and supports to improve the lives of every student and family she touches".
In addition to the Build No Fences Award, we were honored to bestow the George Hastings Award to State Representative Tammy Exum. The Hastings Award honors an indvidual who is the voice for the voiceless - an advocate beyond measure. When presenting the Award to Tammy, Executive Director Margaret Hann said "I have often referred to Tammy as our guardian angel. She watches over the Bridge with care and love. Tammy moves mountains - she never gives up - she is a fearless advocate".
