West Hartford Teen Center - Housed in Elmwood Community Center, the Teen Center is a safe, supervised, substance-free drop-in center open to high school age West Hartford teens. It is open on Monday and Friday from 2:30 - 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. A variety of activities are offered, including open gym, games, cooking, billiards, movies, arts and crafts, field trips and monthly special events.
The Teen Center is supervised by staff, interns, and volunteers from the Bridge Family Center. To assure the safety and well-being of all participants, an Honor Code is read and signed by all Teen Center participants. Additionally, the Honor Code is displayed prominently as a reminder of expected behavior.
The Teen Center is sponsored by the Bridge Family Center in collaboration with Elmwood Community Center. Funding support is provided by the Town of West Hartford, the Elizabeth Carse Foundation, the Ensworth Charitable Foundation, the Ellen Jeanne Goldfarb Memorial Charitable Trust, the George A. & Grace L. Long Foundation, and the William and Alice Mortensen Foundation.
