to Life is a week of programs and events to promote healthy
drug-free activities, both fun and educational, for all ages.

The Poetry Slam
Poetry Slam at Conard High School,
Friday, April 27, periods 6 and 7 (11:48 a.m.-1:22
p.m.). A
poetry slam is a unique event—participants share
their writing with an audience of students and
teachers; the poetry is generally about personal
experiences, thoughts, and opinions; more
“confessional” in style.
Competitive
slam; judged by staff panel; prizes awarded.

Fifth grade students will design
Tune-In to
Life posters—a picture of something they love to
do—an alternative to substance abuse.
Posters displayed in many locations around
town—Town Hall, local banks, businesses, libraries,
etc. Participants

Tune-In to Life T-shirt.
5th
grade parents receive a flyer on how to talk to
their children about substance abuse.
