An Inside Look at Eleanor House

Our friends and supporters often ask us about our residential programs, so we will begin to offer "inside looks" whenever possible. Let's start with Eleanor House.

Eleanor House is a therapeutic group home in Hartford for boys ages 13-18 who require intense clinical services. In addition to critical therapeutic support, boys receive life-skills instruction and consistency. We strive to create a home-like setting for them, where we can ease them through a tumultuous time in their young lives. Boys are at Eleanor House for an average of six to nine months, and our goal is to enable them to step down to a lower level of care and/or be reunified with their families. When that is not possible, we hope they are prepared to move into foster-care environments or transitional living programs.

As you take in these photos and consider how hard it must be for young boys to find themselves in this situation, notice the warm and loving faces of our staff; they are the best of the best and bring all they have to each day.
