Robinson+Cole Awards Bridge Family Center the Inaugural George C. Hastings Community Service Award

On September 20, 2016, Robinson+Cole presented the inaugural George C. Hastings Community Service Award to the Bridge Family Center. Executive Director, Margaret Hann, was on hand to accept it.

George C. Hastings, in whose honor the award was created, is revered by both organizations. To Robinson+Cole, George is the firm's former partner, who practiced from 1957 until his retirement in 1995. To the Bridge Family Center, he is a founder and longtime board member. For both, he is a legend and known as someone who has made outstanding contributions to countless lives in the Greater Hartford area both through his career life and his volunteer life.

"George Hastings is one of the founding fathers of the Bridge, and a tireless advocate for those who have no voice," stated Margaret Hann. "As my mentor and dear friend for many years, I have seen firsthand how he is an endless source of knowledge about the law, about people, and about how to manage challenging situations. George sees the good in people and teaches those around him to do the same. The Bridge is here today because George is a man of courage and conviction, and I for one am a better person because of his friendship."

Stephen E. Goldman, the firm's managing partner, said, "Community service has always been one of Robinson+Cole's core values, and nothing exemplifies that more than the lifetime commitment that George Hastings has made to going the extra mile to improve the lives of others. We thought that the creation of this annual award would be an appropriate way to recognize and thank George for his incredible contribution." He closed with, "The Bridge is built on George's commitment to social justice."

We couldn't agree more. Thank you, George Hastings, and thank you, Robinson+Cole.
