Family Resource Center (FRC)

Kristen Cool became the Director of Family Resource Centers in June of 2023. She is a graduate of Clark University and Saint Joseph College (now University of Saint Joseph), with dual certificiation in elementary and special education. She is a specialist in early literacy instruction and is a tireless advocate for equitable opportunities for students. Cool also served as a special education preschool teacher and Birth-to-Three interventionist. 

Kim first connected to the Bridge Family Center as a parent and licensed home childcare provider in 1995.  After completing her Bachelor’s at Charter Oak State College, she began her journey as a Parent Educator and has been on staff since January 2007.  Kim leads early learning playgroups, facilitates parenting classes, partners with families learning English, provides personal visits, and genuinely enjoys supporting all families in FRC programs.

Amy Yarbrough has been with the Family Resource Center since March 2013.  She is a graduate of Boston College and received a Masters of Social Work at Boston University.  As Family Liaison, Amy works to connect and support families, caregivers and their children to build a stronger community. Amy is very involved in working with the West Hartford public schools and in other community organizations.
