Vannessa Dorantes, Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Ken Mysogland, Bureau Chief of External Affairs at DCF, recently visited the Bridge Family Center. Following an informative discussion on our residential and independent living programs, Dorantes and Mysogland toured Freymann House, one of our four Short-Term Assessment and Respite (STAR) homes. As a Tier One provider of residential support for DCF, we provide hope and healing to teens who have experienced significant trauma in their challenging lives.

Dorantes was appointed Commissioner in January, 2019. She joined the Department nearly 27 years ago as a social worker. Prior to her appointment, she held the position of the Regional Administrator for the Department.
